Sidaarth (Sid) Sabhnani
I'm an incoming software engineer at IMC Trading in Chicago. I received my M.S. (2026) and B.S. (Honors, 2025) in computer science from the University of Texas at Austin, where I was advised by Prof. David Wu.
I'm primarily interested in systems performance — including in cryptography, operating systems, distributed systems, and ML inference.
You can reach me at ssabhnani [at] utexas [dot] edu.
Work

Education
- 2024–26M.S. Computer Science via the Integrated B.S./M.S. program, UT Austin. Advised by David Wu. Thesis: From Lattices to Tensor Cores: Accelerating Communication-Efficient Private Information Retrieval.Introduced SandwichPIR — the first single-GPU pipeline for communication-efficient lattice-based private information retrieval. Serves the full English Wikipedia (6.4M articles, 8 GiB) privately at >900 QPS with sub-half-second end-to-end latency on a $0.80/hr NVIDIA L4: 4× higher throughput at 15× better performance per dollar than prior GPU work, and 10× / 30× over a CPU-cluster baseline. Preprint pending.
